On October 24, Atlético de Madrid's Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium became the scene of a new edition of Día de las Peñas, a traditional day that celebrates the relationship between the club and its fans. On this occasion, the Asturian region took the center of attention, thanks to the participation of a group of local companies that offered the public a sample of the gastronomy, crafts and tradition of the northern part of Spain.
The initiative was coordinated by the Asturian company Mama Glorietus and its collaborator in Madrid, Álvaro Rodríguez. Together, they organized a stand that brought together brands such as Grupo ALSA, Casa Migio, Pialí, Mediavilla Gourmet, La Lata de Galletas, Cafetería Jeyro, Turrones Verdú, Covadongas, Tu Carbón Joya and PEQ Cakes. Among the attendees, the presence of Óscar Martín, head of logistics at Grupo ALSA, stood out, who has been a member and season ticket holder of Atlético for 34 years and did not miss the event.
The event also had the support of Montaña Central and the Mieres City Council, which collaborated to reinforce the Asturian presence at the venue. Visitors were able to taste typical products, learn about crafts and discover projects by local entrepreneurs, which made it possible to make visible the diversity and quality of the Principality's products.
Atlético de Madrid's Supporters Day continues to be an opportunity to strengthen ties between the club and its fans, but this edition demonstrated how the initiative can be a vehicle for cultural and economic promotion. With the active participation of local companies and entities, the event not only celebrated football passion, but also the talent and business initiative of Asturias.
