Bayern Munich drew 2-2 against Augsburg, but the top of the Bundesliga is now occupied by Borussia Dortmund. Despite the one-point defeat, coach Vincent Kompany maintained a calm tone, underlining that the result does not change the primary objective: victory.
Kompany said he doesn't even know how much Dortmund have done, revealing that his focus remains solely on his own team. "I don't care what others do. Only our results, our games," he said, recalling his experiences at Liverpool and Manchester City, where he learned to focus on his own game rather than the opponents' scores.
Bayern ended the match with a draw, while Dortmund achieved the same result against Werder Bremen, leaving both with 13 and 11 points respectively. The current ranking sees Dortmund in first position, followed by Bayern with 11 points, Freiburg with 10 and Bayer Leverkusen with 10, while RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen, Augsburg and Mainz compete for third place with 9, 8, 8 and 7 points.
Kompany also expressed his confidence in the team's ability to make up for lost points, stating that "sooner or later we will play against each other, this will have a bearing". The coach closed his comment with an invitation to look forward, underlining the importance of not focusing on the results of the opponents but of focusing on continuous improvement.
With the season still ongoing, Bayern will have to regroup to regain the top spot, while Dortmund will continue to consolidate their leading position. The next meeting between the two teams will be decisive to define the title race.
