Frosinone striker Antonio Raimondo confirmed his status as Serie A's top scorer after scoring seven goals this season, including a hat-trick in the final against Sassuolo. During an interview with Deejay Football Club, conducted by Ivan Zazzaroni and Fabio Caressa, the young man illustrated his path and the motivations that drive him to give his all on the pitch.
Raimondo underlined the importance of staying focused and following the directives of the coach, Massimiliano Alvini, who represented a fundamental point of reference for him. “Alvini changed me as a player,” he said, highlighting continuity and constant commitment as key elements to his development. He also mentioned the influence of his Under-21 coach, Baldini, saying his experience helped consolidate his growth.
The most exciting moment for Raimondo was the decisive goal against Sassuolo, where he performed a double feint to beat the goalkeeper. “I made the second feint to make sure I had it in,” he explained, demonstrating his attention to detail and willingness to leave no room for error. Despite the brilliant performance, the player has kept his feet on the ground, recognizing that there is still a lot of work to do.
The young man then spoke about his role model, the football champion Diego Cavani. “As a child I followed Napoli matches and I always liked how Cavani chased the ball, his determination and his aggression,” he declared. Raimondo also highlighted the importance of offensive instinct and the ability to be in the right place at the right time, qualities which he has tried to constantly hone.
Regarding the future, Raimondo has expressed his desire to represent the Italian national team and to be compared to Totò Schillaci in view of the next European Championship. “I hope to be able to play for the national team with all my heart,” he said, thanking his supporters for their support. With its current form, Frosinone can count on a fully developing attacker, ready to take the team to new heights.
