Racing de Santander is preparing for a match that, according to its coach, will be the most demanding of the season. José Alberto López has declared that the match against Real Madrid, scheduled for this Sunday at the El Sardinero Stadium, is the event that the club had been looking for for fifteen years, when its matches were limited to lower category teams. “Not only us, but the entire club has been looking to play games like this for a long time,” said the Asturian coach during the press conference prior to the match, underlining the excitement aroused by the duel and the responsibility it entails.
The coach has pointed out that Real Madrid presents itself as one of the best teams in the world, with “extraordinary” players and management by José Mourinho who, according to him, is in its best moment of the season, as demonstrated in the Classic. “It is a team with extraordinary players, very well managed with a coach who has an impressive career and journey,” commented José Alberto, highlighting the quality of the rival and the importance of the event for Racing.
For Racing, the strategy will be to maintain its usual style and play without fear from the first minute. “We will try to maintain our style because this way the Cantabrian team will be closer to achieving victory,” explained the coach. “We have nothing to lose,” he added, emphasizing that the team must demonstrate its ability to play without reservation. Racing, who have accumulated all their points in LaLiga EA Sports this season, are confident in the support of their fans, describing the stadium atmosphere as a “pressure cooker” that will benefit their team against a great rival.
The match will be held at the El Sardinero Sports Fields, where Racing has shown a solid performance. José Alberto López has highlighted the strength of the team when it plays under the encouragement of its fans, and has trusted that the fans, who have long awaited an event of this magnitude, will enjoy the match. “We know that the atmosphere is going to be a pressure cooker for the rival and that it will help us try to beat a great team,” concluded the coach.
With the season in full swing and Real Madrid as one of the most competitive teams in the world, Racing de Santander seeks to take advantage of the opportunity to consolidate its position in the league and show that it can compete with the big teams. The result of this duel will be crucial to define the club's course in the next matches and to confirm if the team can continue to maintain its strong performance in the competition.
