On 29 October 2026 ACMilan and FCInternazionale officially announced the new stadium that will replace the SanSiro: the GeneraliStadium, with a capacity of 71,500 seats. The joint communication, released by both clubs, presented the project, the partners and the expected timing, highlighting how the initiative represents a long-term strategic investment for the two teams and for the city of Milan.

The project was created in collaboration with architects Foster+Partners and Manica, who created an architecture inspired by Milanese heritage and contemporary design. The design includes an "X"-shaped concrete structure, a double-curved roof and a structural element that recalls the craftsmanship of the Duomo. The roof, equipped with photovoltaic panels, aims to guarantee energy sustainability and acoustic optimization. The two-ring arrangement of stands wraps around the pitch 360°, with curves inclined up to 37°, to maximize the intensity of the matchday experience.

Generali was chosen as naming-right partner from day one, also becoming Official Insurance Partner of both clubs. The agreement, one of the largest in the world, underlines Generali's commitment to contributing to the development of Milan and creating a lasting legacy for future generations of fans. The name of the new stadium, GeneraliStadium, will therefore be a point of reference for the city and for the fans of both clubs.

In addition to the sports facility, the project includes an urban regeneration area of 281,000 m2 around the site. The intervention intends to transform the SanSiro area into a lively neighborhood with public spaces, green areas, shops and entertainment venues, open all year round. The aim is to create a destination that goes beyond football, integrating sport, culture and commerce to strengthen Milan's position as a dynamic and innovative European city.

The construction process is already underway: the agreement with the Municipality of Milan, signed in 2025, established the foundations for the transformation of the area. The subsequent design phases will lead to the start of works scheduled for 2028, with the first match scheduled for the 2031/32 season, subject to obtaining the necessary authorizations. For ACMilan and Internazionale, the GeneraliStadium represents not only a new infrastructure, but an investment for the sporting, cultural and economic future of the clubs and the city.
