Athletic Bilbao held its Ordinary General Assembly today at the Euskalduna Palace, where members met to approve the management of president JonUriarte, the accounts for the previous year and the budget for the 2026-27 season. The meeting, which began at 6:00 p.m., constitutes the fifth Assembly that Uriarte has faced and the first of his second term.

In the session, the accounting for the 2025-26 period was put to a vote, which shows a record amount of income: 152.6 million euros, the highest collection ever achieved by the club, although without counting income from the sale of players. Income from competitions and broadcasting rights was reduced by 50.7 million, but the club partially compensated for this drop with 15.3 million profits derived from transfers and assignments, among which the departures of Agirrezabala and UnaiGómez stand out. The operating result amounted to 38.1 million, generating a net profit of 20.6 million, triple the previous year and double the approved budget for 2025-26.

For the 2026-27 season, Athletic proposes a budget of 155.8 million euros, with an operating result that projects a loss of 3.2 million. After deducting amortizations and provisions, the net result would be –17 million. The accounting novelties include two voluntary adjustments at the end of 2025-26, the anticipation of 6.8 million in contributions to the Athletic Foundation and an increase of 13.8 million in the depreciation and amortization of the sports assets of the first team.

In addition to the numbers, the Assembly addressed the proposal to increase member fees by 2.1%, a figure less than half the CPI, and the investment of 15 million euros that treasurer GuillermoRuiz-Longarte explained that he will allocate, in part, to the expansions of SanMamés and Lezama. The members of the Electoral Board, the Disciplinary Commission, the Appeals Committee and the Control, Transparency and Good Governance Commission were also appointed.

With the approval of the accounts and budget, the club will be able to move forward with its development plans and consolidate its financial position, while the next phase of the Assembly will focus on internal management and long-term investment planning.
