Lazio has concluded the renewal of the contract of the young defender Romano Floriani Mussolini, a product of the Biancoceleste academy. The agreement, which sees the player linked to the club until 30 June 2030, was formalized after negotiations which saw the club block a previous proposal to sell to Empoli. The step was considered crucial to consolidate Gattuso's defence, who gave confidence to FlorianiMussolini during the summer, allowing him to take advantage of Marusic's injury and insert himself into the first team rotations.
The new contract provides for a significant increase in salary, which will go from 150,000 euros to approximately 600,000 euros per year. The current agreement, which expires in 2028, has been extended by two seasons, guaranteeing the player a more stable future and recognizing his increasingly important role in Gattuso's squad. According to club sources, the signing has already been completed and FlorianiMussolini was able to sign the deed on the day, although any administrative delays did not alter the final outcome.
The decision to renew was welcomed by both the club and the player. FlorianiMussolini, who proved to be a positive surprise at the start of the season, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the management and the new coach. The defender also underlined the importance of continuing to work for the team and contributing to Lazio's success.
With the agreement concluded, Lazio will be able to count on a young but already consolidated defender, ready to play a key role in the next Serie A matches. The club, which has demonstrated its willingness to invest in its squad, now has the certainty of maintaining a fundamental element of its defensive department. The next step will be the integration of FlorianiMussolini into the pre-season preparations, with the aim of strengthening the defensive solidity and preparing for the challenges of next season.
