Alessandro Plizzari is now a certainty for Südtirol, but his career has also attracted the attention of Milan, who consider him a potential deputy to Hugo Maignan. The goalkeeper, born in 2000, is currently on loan from Venezia and has proven to be one of the best in Serie B, with a save percentage of 86.4%, the highest of any goalkeeper in the league.
Plizzari grew up in the Rossoneri youth system, joining the youth team at six years old and reaching the first team in 2016-17, when Milan won the Italian Super Cup. He was part of the squad in several seasons, including 2018-19 and part of 2021-22, before leaving the club in July 2022. His experience in Serie B was characterized by impressive numbers: he saved 19 of the 22 opponents' shots he was involved in, also demonstrating his ability to contribute to the construction of the game.
Südtirol's sporting director, Lovisa, chose Plizzari after a season as a reserve at Venezia, and the decision proved to be a winning one. The club, however, is already evaluating alternatives for next season. In this context there is talk of a possible return of Alessio Cragno, who is close to re-signing with Südtirol to recover from a serious injury.
Milan, who have kept an eye on Plizzari's career, appear interested in exploiting his experience and technical skills to strengthen their goal. If the Rossoneri club were to proceed with a negotiation, Plizzari could become an important support element for Maignan.
Plizzari's future therefore remains uncertain: Südtirol will continue to monitor the available options, while Milan could offer a new challenge to this young goalkeeper, who has already proven to be an added value in both Serie A and Serie B.
