After the match ended 1-1 against Sassuolo, midfielder Marco Rabiot expressed Milan's frustration at the points lost, highlighting the need to improve their mentality and offensive effectiveness.
Milan, currently in a mid-level position in the table, suffered a draw which left the club with two points less than hoped for. Rabiot highlighted how the team had the chance to score and then suffered a quick recovery of possession, an episode which, according to him, was saved by the intervention of Mike Maignan. “We can't let our guard down, we have to work on our mentality and improve our game,” he said, referring to the need to turn chances into goals.
In the commentary, Rabiot reiterated that, despite the positive moments, the final result was a loss of two points. "We were able to make good moves, but we weren't able to capitalize on them. It's important not to leave too many points on the way, otherwise we risk distancing ourselves from the other teams," he added. The midfielder also expressed his expectation of a higher ranking, underlining that the team could have obtained the three points in that match.
The player then made an appeal to coach Amorim, asking to increase the presence of men in the penalty area when attacking. “We often go with few players in the area, and this is a point we need to improve on,” he explained. Rabiot highlighted the importance of greater participation from midfielders and full-backs, who should push more often. "We work in training, but it's not always easy. We need to grow especially in this aspect to have more plays in the area," he concluded.
With Milan still fighting for the Champions League places, the team must approach the next matches with a more aggressive strategy and a greater ability to transform possession into goals. Rabiot asked the club not to be discouraged and to continue working on the mentality and offensive effectiveness, key aspects to recover the lost points and consolidate the position in the standings.
