Arsenal's England forward Bukayo Saka was injured during a Champions League match and is feared to be out for up to two months, the BBC reported. Saka started the match against Bayern Munich on the 21st, but was substituted 10 minutes into the game due to an injury to his left thigh. The injury was caused by a quadriceps muscle and was initially thought to be a minor injury, but the latest diagnosis suggests the condition may be more serious.
Initial diagnosis by medical staff indicates that he is expected to be out for at least six weeks, with the risk of being out for even longer. In particular, it is difficult to assess the exact degree of damage due to the accumulation of body fluids around the affected area. Following this, Saka decided to undergo another MRI scan. Manager Mikel Arteta said: ``Further tests and expert opinion are needed'' and the player needs to be patient until a final diagnosis is made.
If Saka is out for an extended period of time, Arsenal's attacking line-up could be significantly affected this season. In particular, in order to remain competitive in the Premier League and European competitions, substitute players and tactical changes will be required. The club is currently monitoring Saka's recovery and is considering reinforcements if necessary.
As for future developments, it is unclear when Saka will return until the results of an MRI scan are released. Manager Arteta said, ``If there is no pain and movement is not restricted, that is a good sign,'' and the road to return to action could be long. Arsenal fans wish Saka a speedy recovery and will be watching to see how the team handles the situation.
