Atalanta advances towards Fiorentina with two players who seem ready to return to the pitch. GiorgioScalvini and IbrahimSulemana participated in a check-up session in Zingonia and, according to coach MaurizioSarri, both are capable of recovering for the match against Fiorentina. Scalvini has already shown some movement on the pitch, while Sulemana, although in good condition, has recorded lower athletic results than in July, but is considered ready for a possible end-of-match surgery.
On the contrary, some starters remain unavailable. Raspadori, Pompei, Kolašinac, Kossounou and Kessie will not be able to participate in the match, while Hien continues to work in the gym and carry out individual exercises on the pitch. Sarri will therefore have to deal with a small group and carefully evaluate the composition of the team.
The crucial point for Atalanta's preparation is the choice of center forward. The coach must decide whether to maintain the relay between Scamacca and Krstovic or confirm Krstovic from the first minute. The Montenegrin has scored six goals and two assists in eight SerieA appearances, with five goals in the last three games, while Scamacca has scored just one goal in seven appearances. These numbers could push Sarri to trust Krstovic for the first leg in Florence.
The match will take place on Thursday at 2045 at the LuigiFranchi Stadium. Sarri will therefore have to define the final training and formation before the match against Fiorentina, trying to balance the need to recover key players with the need to maintain the team's competitiveness. Next week we will know if Scalvini and Sulemana will be able to enter the field and what the final choice will be for the attack role.
