Catanzaro finds itself in a phase of crisis after a season which, despite the dream of promotion to Serie A, ended with a move closer to Serie B. In response to this situation, a group of supporters' clubs of the Giallorossi club published a statement expressing their solidarity with the club's project, but also the need for a concrete turning point.
The message was signed by five clubs: Catanzaro Club Pietro Iemmello – Rome, Catanzaro Club Massimo Palanca – Bologna, Catanzaro Club Milano Giallorossa – Milan, Catanzaro Club Aquile delle Alpi – Aosta and Catanzaro Club Floriano Noto – Sellia Marina. The text underlines that, although the team is in the relegation zone, the fans do not forget the club's long history of struggle, from its stay in the lower divisions to the recent promotion to Serie B and the near-promotion to Serie A. Gratitude towards the Noto family, who took over the management of the club in 2017, is seen as a duty, but should not prevent constructive criticism.
According to fan representatives, criticism must not turn into personal insults that fuel discord. The statement invites the ownership and sports management to maintain a transparent and sustainable management model, based on solid structures, valorisation of young people and financial stability. However, concern is expressed about the current position in the standings, attributing the situation to factors such as the three consecutive away games, the reduced "firepower" of the Ceravolo stadium and, according to them, possible errors in the choice of players and coach.
The group of fans therefore asks president Floriano Noto and sporting director Polito to undertake a decisive change. These are not summary processes, but drastic decisions that take into account the sensitivity of the situation. The statement concludes with the hope that the team will respond with a strong gesture of respect towards the passion of the fans, especially in the next match in Verona. If it doesn't happen, fans say that the ownership and sports management will no longer be able to postpone it, as the time available is limited.
