The Sports Judge imposed a two-match ban and a fine of 10,000 euros on Massimiliano Allegri following his behavior during the Napoli-Roma match. The expulsion occurred immediately after Balerdi's 3-3 goal, when Allegri made insulting expressions to the match officials and, in the changing rooms, showed an aggressive attitude towards a manager of the opposing team. The accusations were documented by the Fourth Official, the Race Director and, subsequently, by collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor's Office.
The decision, published in the official press release, has already worsened the situation of the Neapolitan club. With the disqualification, Allegri will have to miss the next two days of the championship, including the match against Juventus, the coach's former team. Napoli, however, is considering the possibility of appealing, with the aim of reducing the sanction and, if possible, returning Allegri to the bench at least for the match against the Bianconeri. At the moment this is not a definitive decision, but the club is ready to intervene within the next few hours.
Regardless of the outcome of the appeal, Allegri's absence is certain for the match against Monza. In that case, assistant coach Marco Landucci will have to take over. Since arriving at Napoli, Landucci has played a crucial role in the day-to-day management of the team, often leading training sessions during the pre-season and showing a superior presence on the pitch to that of Allegri in some phases. His familiarity with the coach's methods, principles and demands makes him the natural choice to lead the Azzurri in Allegri's absence.
The Neapolitan club, therefore, finds itself having to quickly decide whether to appeal and, in any case, to count on Landucci to maintain tactical and motivational continuity. If the sanction remains unchanged, Napoli will have to face Monza without their main coach, but with a replacement who knows the team's philosophy well. If the appeal were to have a favorable outcome, Allegri could return to the bench for the match against Juventus, guaranteeing the club the presence of its main coach in the next matches.
