Atalanta keeps Maurizio Sarri at the helm despite public protests after the 4-4 match against Frosinone. The coach is still at the center of the club project, and the management shows no signs of a possible change of bench.
The match against Frosinone, played at home, was the first match of the season after a visit to Amsterdam just 66 hours earlier. Despite the fatigue, the team covered 121 kilometres, surpassing their neighbors in number of sprints and total distance. The analysis shows that although Frosinone had an advantage in terms of playing minutes, Atalanta managed to maintain the pressure and show superior energy. Midfielder Bellanova, who had already left the team due to injury, was also excluded during the match.
Il Corriere di Bergamo reported that the players "played for Sarri", highlighting a climate of unity within the group. This contrasts with the situation last year, when Atalanta suffered the dismissal of Ivan Juric after the 0-3 defeat against Sassuolo. Today there are no signs of internal rupture and the technician is not the subject of public discussions.
The club decided, in the summer, to rely on a new technical director and to keep Sarri as coach. The choice was made to consolidate a new technical project and there are no plans to go back after a few months of difficulty. Sarri has already started to reorganize the team, adopting the 4‑2‑3‑1 and moving De Ketelaere from the wing to the attacking midfield. The coaching staff is also working to understand the causes of frequent muscle injuries, with the aim of reducing the risk of future injuries.
The club reiterated that although the crowd expressed frustration with the booing, it did not indicate a change in the bench. Sarri remains at the center of the strategy and the management is ready to make further adjustments to adapt the coaching principles to the characteristics of the squad. The team continues to focus on constant growth, with the hope of improving results in the next Serie A matches.
