Liverpool have announced the hiring of Andriy Fedchenkov, a Ukrainian scout currently at Flamengo, for their scouting area. The 30-year-old, former head of the Brazilian club's scouting department, will arrive at Anfield in the January 2027 transfer window, after completing his contract with Flamengo which expires in December 2026. During the intervening months he will continue to work in Brazil, respecting the existing agreement, before moving to England to contribute to the Reds' recruitment system.
Fedchenkov has built his career in various European and Brazilian companies. He acted as a scout at Cardiff (2024-2025), Shakhtar Donetsk (2018-2021), Karpaty Lviv (2016-2018) and PAOK in Greece (2021-2023). Despite his young age, his international CV makes him an ideal candidate to expand Liverpool's scouting network, which aims to strengthen the search for emerging talents around the world.
The English club stated that Fedchenkov's arrival will only take place after the natural conclusion of his tenure in Brazil, so as to avoid conflicts of interest and ensure a smooth transition. The operation was confirmed by ESPN Brasil, which reported that the Ukrainian will continue to carry out his duties at Flamengo until December 2026, before making the definitive leap to England.
Liverpool have always relied on a global scouting network to identify promising young players. The hiring of Fedchenkov, with his experience at top-level clubs, is in line with this strategy. The club has not yet indicated the details of the contract, but it is expected that the agreement will include a long-term stay, given the club's interest in consolidating its scouting structure.
With Fedchenkov's arrival, Liverpool will be able to expand their coverage in South America and other regions where the club already has a significant presence. The next phase will be to integrate the new scout into the British scouting team, with the aim of maintaining the club's competitiveness in the search for emerging talent.
