Bologna ended the match against Lecce with a decisive victory, taking home three points that coach Raffaele Palladino defined as fundamental for the group. “It was a crucial moment to get some points, the group needed them,” said Palladio after the match. The coach stressed that despite the victory, the team still has many areas to improve, especially after a difficult month and low morale.
During the press conference, Palladio explained the changes made in the tactical structure. “In three weeks we changed the game principles and the game system,” he said. The coach also highlighted the difficulty of training the complete team due to the numerous appearances for the national team, but reiterated that the championship has just begun and that the real work will begin on Tuesday.
Regarding individual performances, Palladio praised the work of the attackers. “Piccoli fought the duel with his opponent well, Orsolini scored a spectacular goal and Cambiaghi contributed significantly,” he observed. He also spoke about the choice of Pessina, underlining the enthusiasm of the young goalkeeper who arrived from the national team and who showed great energy on the pitch. “I really believe in Pessina, but we have to see how he develops in the next matches,” he added.
The coach also mentioned the situation of some key players. Orsolini, who had been working on physical reconditioning, showed some resentment but hopefully it is not serious. Bernardeschi only returned to the field on Wednesday, while Skorupski demonstrated good preparation. Palladio reiterated the importance of maintaining motivation and continuing to work on technical and tactical improvement.
Overall, Bologna showed that they have the strength to react when necessary. “The team, when tied, showed the ability to recover and win the match,” concluded Palladio. The coach reiterated that football wins who plays best and that Lecce had opportunities but was unable to capitalize on them. With the victory, Bologna is moving closer to a more solid position in the league table and the club is preparing to focus on the next matches, where technical work and player growth will remain at the center of attention.
