Nowadays Fiorentina continues to fight to get out of the crisis that has marked them in the last few matches. In the last match against Inter, the rossoblù team managed to take the lead in the second half, but were recovered and overcome in the final minutes, with a final result of 2–1 in favor of the Nerazzurri. Sports journalist Alessandro Bonan, a well-known face of Sky Sport, analyzed the match and the tactical decisions of coach Maurizio Sarri, highlighting the team's offensive difficulties.
Bonan pointed out that Fiorentina only had two shots on target, of which one was the goal of Jiménez, who showed great finishing ability from outside the area. The defensive organization was appreciated, but the lack of offensive initiatives led to defeat. The commentator also criticized Sarri's substitutions, in particular the removal of Jiménez and Mastantuono midway through the second half, as lacking logic and damaging to the team. According to Bonan, these choices weakened the defensive and offensive structure, leaving Fiorentina vulnerable to Inter's counterattacks.
To find a solution, Bonan proposed adopting a three-man defence, with Jiménez and Valdepenas as wingers and Mastantuono in the center forward role. He also suggested giving more space to Oulai and reviewing the position of Fagioli, who tends to slow down the team when on defense. The idea would be to place Oulai in the center and Fagioli as a directing midfielder, a role in which coach Mancini has already used him in the national team. Bonan concluded that Fiorentina's real problem lies in their first three defeats, which eroded the team's enthusiasm and confidence.
Fiorentina will therefore have to reconsider their tactical strategy and try to recover the lost motivation, in order to reverse the negative trend and return to competing with top-level clubs.
