Juventus recently closed the goalkeeping market, confirming that the interest in Russian defender Stanislav Agkatsev was real, but did not materialize. The player, born in 1999, was at the Russian club Krasnodar and had expressed his willingness to move to Italy, but he decided to stay at the club where he is still with.
According to Agkatsev's statements published on his YouTube channel “Nobel”, the transfer process was very close to completion. The goalkeeper explained that, during a holiday, he received updates on the negotiations, but chose not to get too involved to avoid disappointment. “Juventus' interest was concrete, but it didn't materialize,” he said, adding that he is happy where he is now and hopes for an important future step, both in winter and summer.
At the same time, the Juventus management had already identified two names to replace the departed goalkeepers. For the position of first goalkeeper, the choice fell on Vicario, while for the second position Grabara was selected, who replaced Perin, now in Palermo. Despite the final choice, Juventus had also received requests for interest from other Italian clubs, including Milan and Inter, who had expressed the need for a twelfth starting goalkeeper.
Agkatsev also reiterated that he is willing to take a substitute role if necessary, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to contribute to the club's success. His decision to stay at Krasnodar was not motivated by economic factors, but rather by the desire to continue to grow as a player in a familiar environment.
At the moment, Juventus continues to consolidate their goalkeeping roster, with Vicario and Grabara having to demonstrate their quality ahead of next season. For Agkatsev, the prospect of a transfer remains open, but the final choice will depend on the dynamics of the market and the needs of the clubs involved.
