Venezia coach Giovanni Stroppa expressed frustration after the 3‑2 defeat against Atalanta, underlining the naivety that characterized the team's performance. In the press conference held at the New Balance Arena, the coach himself admitted that he believed he had started the match with the right approach, but that he had made "unnecessary" errors, especially in front of goal.
Stroppa lamented the difficulty of getting the team back on its feet after the second goal, calling it a "naive" mistake that allowed Atalanta to consolidate the victory. He also highlighted the need to improve his dribbling and ball management, elements which, in his opinion, were not sufficient to counteract the opponent's offensive pressure. Despite the defeat, the coach reiterated the strength and competitiveness of the squad, stating that the team is capable of growing if it constantly works.
During the conference, Stroppa answered questions regarding the pressure on the players, the fans' boos and the possible replacement on the bench. He said he handled the ball effectively but found it difficult to “play the game straight away.” He also thanked the club for their trust and expressed optimism about the team's future, underlining the players' positivity and the need to continue with their daily work.
The coach closed the conference by recalling that, although the team "gave many dribbles to Atalanta", they are ready to correct their mistakes and improve their performance in the next matches.
