Ivan Zazzaroni, director of Corriere dello Sport, has published a series of criticisms towards the managers of Juventus and Napoli, in particular towards the coaches Allegri and Spalletti. In his article, Zazzaroni expressed his disappointment at the lack of respect he found towards these professionals, underlining that their experience and successes were not adequately recognized.
The journalist also highlighted how the world of social media is influencing journalism and newspapers, creating a confusion between freedom of expression and lack of respect towards those who have dedicated years to the profession. Zazzaroni said that football professionals, who have gone through numerous changes, are forced to suffer violent attacks and stupid lessons from former footballers of insignificant level, who only seek approval and money.
In his article, Zazzaroni also criticized the commentators, who according to him have no art or role, but only try to obtain public consensus and recognition. The journalist stated that trying to teach football to Spalletti or Allegri is like suggesting that Scorsese create a scene from a movie, and that even Scorsese can make mistakes before he becomes Scorsese again.
Zazzaroni concluded the article by underlining that the lack of respect towards football professionals is unacceptable and that their experience and successes should be recognized and respected. The journalist called for the football profession to be treated with the respect it deserves, and for pundits and journalists to no longer be able to criticize football professionals in an offensive way.
