Genoa achieved a deserved triumph against Juventus, closing the match with a result that left the fans celebrating. The episode, played at Via del Mare, saw Daniele De Rossi's team obtain the three points necessary to keep the race in the standings alive, with a dominant performance that highlighted the defensive solidity and offensive capacity of the rossoblù group. The result was particularly important since Genoa comes from a series of victories: the previous one was against Venezia and the previous one against the Bianconeri, creating a positive rhythm for the team.
After the match, attention turned to Mikael Ellertsson, the Icelandic defender who had to leave the field before half-time due to an ankle problem. Coach De Rossi decided not to include the player immediately so as not to occupy a place in the substitutions, opting instead for the entry of Mitaj, who nevertheless offered a valid contribution. The decision was made at a delicate moment of the match, when Genoa wanted to avoid creating opportunities for the Bianconeri. The episode has raised doubts about Ellertsson's physical condition, which will be evaluated during the resumption of training today at the "Signorini" in Pegli.
The group was divided into two units: one made up of players who had the opportunity to play against Juventus and the other of those who had fewer minutes or did not take the field. This division will allow the coach to monitor individual performances and evaluate Ellertsson's recovery conditions. The team is now preparing for the next championship match, which will be held against Lecce, under the guidance of Eusebio Di Francesco. The result of this match will be crucial to consolidate Genoa's position in the league table and to maintain high motivation after the recent victories.
Genoa, with their current form, have shown they can compete with the strongest teams in Serie A, but injury management remains a priority. The club is ready to use the next match to consolidate its position and to closely monitor Ellertsson's health. With the team in form and a challenging calendar ahead of them, Genoa aims to continue their positive run, aiming to maintain the points gained and strengthen their position in the league table.
