Kylian Mbappé's mother, Fayza Lamari, has been incorporated into the judicial process investigating the former security officer of the French team, Mohamed Sanhadji, and has been questioned by the investigating judges. The case, which has also seen the participation of the Real Madrid forward, centers on accusations of corruption, diversion of funds and influence peddling surrounding Sanhadji, who headed the national team's security between 2004 and 2026.
According to the newspaper L'Équipe, Lamari was placed in the “assisted witness” category before the final indictment, since the justice system considers that there are indications of her participation in the events but that they are not yet conclusive. Magistrates maintain that the footballer's mother may have asked Sanhadji to intervene in obtaining four visas, although the exact details remain under investigation. Lamari's lawyers have remained silent on the situation.
Mbappé himself was also questioned during his stay in Paris at the end of last month, after having withdrawn from France's training camp for the Nations League with an injury. His interrogation is part of a series of questions aimed at clarifying the criminal activities attributed to Sanhadji. Investigators are analyzing whether the funds transferred by the striker in 2023, which totaled 60,300 euros, were linked to an official mission or a private activity.
The judicial process has implicated numerous members of the team, both current and former, as well as Federation directors and entertainment personalities. The arrival of Zinedine Zidane as coach led to Sanhadji being appointed security officer, but the former bodyguard was forced to resign after preventive measures imposed by the instructors, which prohibit him from contacting members of the team.
With the investigation still ongoing, magistrates continue to examine the links between Sanhadji, Lamari and Mbappé, seeking to determine the nature of the transactions and possible undue influence on the management of the team's security. The case will continue to develop in the coming days, with the expectation that the facts will be clarified and the corresponding responsibilities will be established.
