FCBarcelona has decided to close the “Grada d’Animació”, known as Gol1957, for the next League match against Alavés, with the intention of reopening it when they face AstonVilla. The measure was announced in an official statement from the club, which explained that the decision responds to a series of recent incidents that have put the reputation and safety of the stadium at risk.
The announcement comes after the identification and administrative complaint of Eduardo Camavinga's alleged attacker during the Clásico, a fact that was achieved thanks to the CampNou security cameras and the collaboration between the Mossos d'Esquadra and the club's security services. The club considered that the succession of files opened at Gol1957, where some members have shown conduct contrary to the values of sport, could expose the club to economic sanctions and the risk of closing the stadium, in addition to damaging its public image.
In the statement, FCBarcelona stated that it would meet with the representatives of the groups that make up Gol1957 to address the situation and establish the necessary commitments in order to preserve passionate and respectful animation. It was stressed that the objective is for the stands to be fully operational again in the match against AstonVilla, as long as dialogue allows the situation to be redirected and ensure its proper functioning.
The club emphasized that animation is an asset that it wishes to preserve, based on the commitment and shared responsibility of all those involved. The measure is presented as a way to protect the heritage and reputation of Barça, while working on solutions that allow us to continue enjoying the passion of the fans without putting the integrity of the club at risk.
