Venezia is preparing for a crucial match against Inter, after the defeat at Genoa which left coach Davide Nicola with the team in last place. In yesterday's press conference, Nicola underlined the difficulty of the match, calling it "complicated but not unplayable", and expressed appreciation for the young midfielder Dagasso, who could contribute to making the central department more dynamic.
In Nicola's story, the club's path was characterized by rapid recovery work and evaluation of the players. He mentioned the reinstatement of Busio and Bella‑Kotchap, two defenders who, according to him, can be used either in a central position or in a more advanced role, depending on tactical needs. The coach also highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance between the development of youth and the need for immediate results, referring to the recent victory against Napoli as an example of how the team can obtain points even against high-level opponents.
Regarding the composition of the team, Nicola confirmed that the midfield remains a priority. Dagasso has been described as an "intelligent" player who can play the role of playmaker or midfielder, while Busio is seen as a versatile element, capable of operating in different positions in midfield. The coach also mentioned the possibility of using Duncan, who is back in the squad, as a reserve option, and expressed confidence in the coach to include new talents, such as Adorante, in the group.
The club president asked the players to maintain concentration and be ready to exploit rotation opportunities, especially in view of the following matches against Como. He reiterated that, although it is not possible to replace the entire department, the coach will try to give space to those who can demonstrate their value on the pitch. In this context, the management of Busio's playing time and Dagasso's position will remain subject to evaluation based on the tactical needs of the moment.
Finally, Nicola asked not to make hasty conclusions about Toni Fernandez's future, underlining the need for 360-degree work with young talents. With Inter arriving, Venezia will have to focus on a solid performance and careful management of resources, with the aim of collecting vital points for salvation. The next match represents a crucial opportunity to demonstrate the team's growth and to get closer to the goal of avoiding relegation.
