At its ordinary meeting, FCBarcelona announced the approval of the budget for the comprehensive renovation of the Masía de CanPlanes and the start of the procedures to carry it out this season. The board also gave the green light to a new sponsorship agreement with the Chinese brand Lexar, belonging to the Longsys group, and to the renewal of the agreement with Canon Medical, which includes the provision of medical equipment for the Ciudad Deportiva in exchange for visibility in the club's assets. Despite the first team's two consecutive defeats, against PSG and Real Madrid, the board expressed full confidence in the squad and the coaching staff.
The CanPlanes Masía, which has been disused since 1979, was the club's headquarters and, from 1971, the residence of the footballers. In 2011 it was moved to SantJoanDespí, and since then the building, cataloged and dated 1702, has remained unused. With the approval of the reform, the Masía will once again be the headquarters of Barça and the comprehensive renovation will be carried out during the current season.
The agreement with Lexar, specialized in memories and digital storage solutions, is part of the expansion strategy of the club's marketing area. For its part, the renewal with Canon Medical includes the transfer of magnetic resonance equipment and other medical devices, in exchange for visibility in different assets of the club. In addition, the board reported the good evolution of results at the end of September, driven by positive income from the commercial area (ticketing, merchandising, museum visits and sponsorships) and the reversal of an accounting provision after a favorable resolution in a dispute with the Treasury.
Regarding the sporting field, the board reaffirmed its confidence in the staff and coaching staff of the men's first team, highlighting the club's commitment to facing the challenges of the season. The development of the women's soccer, handball, indoor soccer, roller hockey and youth soccer sections was also reviewed. In the basketball section, the budgetary effort of the season was highlighted, with an increase in the budget and a remainder available for market opportunities.
The appointment of ElenaFort as the director responsible for the club's amateur sections, which cover athletics, field hockey, rugby, volleyball, ice hockey and figure skating, was approved. In the social area, the member count stood at 157,337, an increase of 2,869 compared to the end of September. The reactivation of the Barça Falset Club (Tarragona) and the registration of seven new clubs in different cities, both in Spain and abroad, were also reported. The meeting, which was originally going to be held in Tarragona, was moved to the club's offices following the declaration of three days of official mourning, and a next traveling session will be scheduled.
