Massimiliano Alvini, Frosinone coach, spoke to DAZN's microphone a few minutes before the match against Napoli, his first match at Maradona. The coach expressed satisfaction at the opportunity to face a high-level team and underlined the importance of knowing the Napoli coach, Maurizio Sarri, with whom he had already had contact in the past.
Alvini reiterated that Frosinone wants to be "up to" the challenge, defining the match as "a great difficulty" which requires a defensive-attacking approach. He insisted on the need to "be perfect in preventive measures", that is, to control the phases of recovering the ball and to limit Napoli's offensive opportunities. The coach asked the players to respect the environment, the public and the opposing team, underlining the importance of disciplined and collective play.
Frosinone, who are currently in Serie B, have had a turbulent season and the meeting with Napoli is seen as an opportunity to demonstrate their growth. Alvini mentioned his knowledge of Sarri and expressed the hope of being able to "confirm the moment" that the team is experiencing. He also recalled the importance of maintaining calm and concentration, especially in a match that can be "very difficult".
During the chat, Alvini mentioned the need to "defend by attacking", a concept that implies high pressing and a quick transition from defense to attack. He also recalled the importance of "paying for the opponents' leg", a way of indicating the need to manage pressure and counterattack situations. The coach asked the players to show the enthusiasm and determination that have guided him so far.
For the future, Frosinone is preparing to continue its campaign in Serie B, with the aim of consolidating its position and facing the next challenges with confidence. The match against Napoli represents a crucial test for the team, which hopes to demonstrate its growth and consolidate the trust of its coach. The outcome of the match, however, remains uncertain, but Alvini is ready to guide his players towards a positive result.
