Milan have decided to reinstate midfielder Warren Bondo to the squad, although the player will not be able to participate in official matches until the winter transfer window reopens. The decision was made following a formal request from the 23-year-old, who had been excluded from the group in July for administrative reasons. The club opted for reinstatement to avoid any legal action and to allow Bondo to return to play with the team.
The reinstatement comes at a crucial moment for Milan, as they prepare for the Champions League match against Salzburg. The team, which has just finished a draw against Sassuolo in the championship, wants to use the trip to Austria to get its form back on track. Bondo was included in the training group and had the opportunity to play with his teammates for the first time since his exclusion.
However, Bondo will not be able to participate in official competitions until he is included in the Serie A or European list. The scheduled date for the reopening of the winter transfer market is December 28th, so the midfielder will have to wait until then to be able to play. Meanwhile, his presence in training at Milanello is seen as an opportunity to demonstrate his worth and try to convince coach Ruben Amorim to give him a chance starting in January.
If Amorim were to maintain the position of not wanting to use Bondo, the club could consider a winter solution. The player's agents would then have the opportunity to find new accommodation during the transfer window. Bondo had already rejected several offers from the Arab and French leagues during the summer, demonstrating his desire to stay at Milan.
The player arrived at the club in the January 2025 transfer market, but failed to consolidate himself in the team. Last year he was loaned to Cremonese for the entire season, without obtaining the hoped for visibility. Now, with reinstatement and the chance to demonstrate his skills in training, Bondo hopes to earn Amorim's trust and return to compete for Milan in upcoming competitions.
