Inter coach Cristian Chivu answered the most pressing questions during yesterday's press conference, before the match against Bologna scheduled for Saturday at 6pm at the Dall'Ara. In particular, he addressed the latest news regarding Lautaro Martínez and the possible presence of Marco Provedel in goal, after Josep Martínez's errors.
As for Lautaro, Chivu clarified that the Argentine player is not a doctor, but has received indications regarding his recovery. "I'm not a doctor, I was told that those are the times. However there is talk of his return after the break", stated the coach. The message was interpreted as a sign that the team expects the midfielder to return to fitness after the recovery break, without providing precise details on the period of absence.
On the goal front, Chivu expressed his trust in Marco Provedel, underlining that the goalkeeper has his consideration and respect. “Provedel has my consideration and respect, I consider him a goalkeeper who will give us an important hand this season,” he declared. The coach then hinted that Provedel could be called upon to replace Josep Martínez, but avoided confirming whether his presence is already scheduled for Saturday's match.
The match against Bologna represents a crucial opportunity for Inter, which seeks to consolidate its position in the standings. With Lautaro's stop and the possible reorganization of the goal, the Nerazzurri team is preparing for a challenge that could influence the title race. The result of this match, as well as the final decision on Provedel, will be decisive for the team's strategy in the upcoming matches.
