Sassuolo ended the season with a positive result thanks to the signing of Alberto Aquilani, who led the team in a very successful phase. The Roman coach, now in charge, convinced everyone with his vision and experience, but it was the sporting director Francesco Palmieri who confirmed the choice to bring him to the city from the beginning. "I have known Aquilani since he was a footballer and I also followed him in the youth sector. He did excellent things in Florence and his amazing season in Catanzaro last year was the definitive proof of his ability" declared Palmieri in an exclusive interview with TMW.
Palmieri explained that the decision to hire Aquilani was the result of a careful evaluation of different profiles. "He was the perfect profile for Sassuolo's needs. He has a desire to demonstrate and play in a proactive way, qualities that we need" he added. The sporting director also underlined the importance of the environment in which Aquilani found himself in Catanzaro, where he was able to fully express his potential. “The coach has a group of players suited to his football and we want to continue along this line” he concluded.
Another highlight of the interview was the role of the Squinzi family in running the club. Palmieri expressed great respect for top-level managers, underlining how their intelligence and closeness are fundamental to the team's success. "I share everything with Veronica Squinzi, who is very attentive to all the dynamics. She gave me even more strength this summer" he said, highlighting the responsibility that having such an important family behind him entails.
Finally, Palmieri reiterated his desire to show the public that Sassuolo continues to focus on the same playing philosophy. “We want to demonstrate that the club has not only maintained itself, but has evolved, thanks to a team of players who share Aquilani's vision,” he declared. With the season now over, the club is preparing to look to the future, with the hope of consolidating its position in Serie A and continuing to produce positive results under the guidance of Aquilani and his staff.
