Luciano Spalletti declared that Juventus sees the Europa League as an opportunity to grow and aim for the best. Before the away match against Celta Vigo, the Juventus coach expressed his ambitions, underlining that "I miss that and other things" and that he intends to "achieve" several objectives for the team.
Spalletti defined the Europa League as a sort of "Champions 2", as the level of the participating teams is very high. To make the most of this competition, he has planned a backhand change: Federico Gatti, starter at home, will be replaced by Nick Woltemade, who will be used to give rest to those who have accumulated more minutes. The coach asked Juventus to become more ferocious in decisive moments, stating that "we are not ferocious enough when the match presents us with an opportunity that can change everything".
Ahead of the match against Celta, Spalletti highlighted the importance of balance and continuity, citing the good Spanish organization in both phases of the game. Although he will be disqualified and will follow the match from afar, the coach expressed full confidence in the staff and players, declaring that "my collaborators are absolutely at my level. They will certainly do better than me". Goalkeeper Francisco Conceição also reiterated the importance of the Europa League, stating that "we want to do very well".
From a tactical point of view, Spalletti has foreseen a 3‑4‑2‑1 system, with Alajbegovic and Conceição behind Woltemade. Players in the ballot for the midfielder position include Kelly-Lucumi and McKennie‑Nico. The coach also underlined that Juventus is one of the favorites of the tournament, but expressed confidence in Celta Vigo's chances, according to Claudio Giraldez's assessment.
With the match ahead of them, Juventus prepares to face a well-organised Spanish team, with the aim of demonstrating that they can compete at European level and achieving ambitious results in the competition.
