Torino have decided to test the young midfielder Cesare Casadei, making him understand that he only has 60 days to prove that he is ready to compete for a place in the first team. Coach Ignazio Abate clearly expressed his expectations, underlining the need for a mental change on the part of the player: "Casadei must make a switch, he must make a mental change in order to play a championship as a protagonist." Furthermore, Abate asked Casadei to "be less of a boy and more of an adult", highlighting the importance of a more mature approach on the pitch.
Casadei's path was marked by integration difficulties. Despite his technical qualities and the six goals he scored in the previous season, the now 23-year-old midfielder has had few appearances in the league, with only one start (on 23 August against Milan) and limited minutes due to injuries and fatigue. After missing four matches through injury, he was left off the bench on several occasions, including matches against Udinese, Parma, Monza and Como. These choices have left the player in a situation of uncertainty, with the club trying to find the best way to develop him.
In the meantime, Torino is considering the possibility of giving Casadei an opportunity during the next away match against Frosinone. Mandragora's absence due to muscular problems could open the door to a new midfielder, and the club is trying to manage rotations in view of the next matches at close intervals. However, if the situation of uncertainty persists over the next 60 days, the club would not hesitate to consider a loan for Casadei. The player, bought for 13 million euros in January 2025, could find a more effective solution in a January transfer window, where the club could offer a more favorable environment for his development.
Torino, while keeping the word "capital loss" banned from the club's plans, is evaluating all options to guarantee Casadei an adequate growth path. If the player fails to consolidate his role in the first team within the next two months, a loan could be the most sensible solution for him and the club. Casadei's future therefore remains uncertain, but Torino is determined to find the best way to make him progress and contribute to the team's success.
