Federico Bernardeschi has confirmed his desire to extend his relationship with Bologna, with a new one-year contract plus an option that could extend it until 30 June 2029. The rossoblù club and the player, who has already shown that he appreciates the city and the project, are negotiating the financial details to guarantee the continuity of the collaboration.
The previous agreement already included an option to extend until June 2028, but the parties decided to revise the proposal to reflect mutual satisfaction. The negotiation had been suspended a year earlier due to excessive financial demands, but the club and Bernardeschi met to find an agreement before the opening of the transfer market. Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, Bologna intends to overcome the old solution and offer the player a guaranteed year plus an option until 2029.
Bernardeschi expressed appreciation for the way he was welcomed by the club, underlining his satisfaction with the role he plays in the dressing room. The club, for its part, wants to reward not only the performances on the pitch but also the player's integration into the team. His contribution has been decisive for Bologna's recent successes, in particular the European Championship won by Roberto Mancini's Italy, and his presence is seen as a key element for competitive continuity.
Sul campo, Bernardeschi ha dimostrato di essere un punto di riferimento. In the match against Cagliari, he provided a high-level action, contributing to the penalty converted for the 2‑0 with quality of play, inventiveness and great availability even in the phase without the ball. His aggression was highlighted by his run on Adopo on the counterattack, which ended in a yellow card, but showed his commitment and determination.
Bologna needs to guarantee quality and unpredictability in the attacking phase, and the choice between Bernardeschi and Riccardo Orsolini becomes crucial. With the possible absence of Orsolini, the club may have to rely on Bernardeschi to maintain competitiveness on the pitch. The new contract, therefore, will not only consolidate the player's position but will also guarantee Bologna a solid base to face future challenges.
