Luis Enrique gave his update on the arrival of LucasDigne at PSG during the press conference which preceded the match against LeHavre. The left back, transferred from AstonVilla last summer, is still struggling to integrate into the Parisian squad and meet the tactical demands of his Spanish coach. Despite limited playing time, the coach insisted that he does not want to draw hasty conclusions and that each player has their own pace of adaptation, regardless of their experience or nationality.
PSG recruited Digne as part of a plan to renew the left defense, but competition remains strong. NunoMendes and LucasHernandez already occupy regular spots, making it more difficult for the newcomer. Luis Enrique recalled that he knows Digne well, having already worked with him at FC Barcelona, and that he firmly believes in his potential. He stressed that the club is ready to put in place measures to reduce the player's adaptation time and to seek the best version of him for the team.
In his remarks, the coach clarified that the confidence he has in Digne does not immediately translate into minutes of play, but that he is convinced that the full-back can become a key element of the Parisian defense. “I’m sure it will be very important. We are ready to look at how to reduce our adaptation time and find the best version of LucasDigne for the team,” he declared, recalling that each player must assimilate the tactical requirements of the staff and prove his value on the pitch.
This statement comes as PSG prepares for a crucial match against LeHavre in Ligue 1. The Parisian club wants Digne to quickly integrate into the team dynamic and contribute to the defensive performances. The message is clear: the coach and staff are determined to support the left-back to accelerate his adaptation, while remaining realistic about the challenges posed by internal competition.
Going forward, Digne's success will depend on his ability to adapt to LuisEnrique's tactical demands and gain the trust of his teammates. If the player manages to demonstrate his effectiveness on the pitch, he could soon become a regular starter and a major asset for PSG in national and European competitions.
