Frosinone, Ghedjemis: "Happy to have stayed. Tomorrow we will try to win"
On 11 October, striker Fares Ghedjemis participated in a press conference ahead of the match against Sassuolo, in which he reiterated his satisfaction at having renewed his contract with the Canaries and his determination to fight for a victory. The player, born in France, described his journey from 2019, when he arrived in Serie C, to his current role in Serie A, underlining the differences in intensity and tactical choice between the two competitions.
During the interview, Ghedjemis highlighted personal and professional growth: "Three years ago I was young and less mature; now Serie A requires quicker decisions and less margin for error." He also spoke about the summer transfer market, explaining that, despite having had different ambitions, he decided to stay in Frosinone after discussions with the coach Alvini and the club. "I'm happy to have stayed and signed the renewal. Now I want to do well," he declared.
The player also commented on the difference between today's team and that of 2023/24, stating that although some players have changed, the team maintains a clear identity and a good understanding of each other. In particular, he praised Alvini's approach, calling him "a great coach" who puts the players' well-being and personal growth at the centre. “He has a winning soul and he makes me improve,” he added.
As for the fans and teammates, Ghedjemis expressed gratitude for the love and support he received, especially remembering his arrival at the club after the match against Venezia. He thanked the president and director Castagnini for their trust and expressed his intention to create a successful season for the city. “I want to have a great season for the whole city and for everyone,” he said.
Finally, the attacker spoke about tomorrow's match, stating that the team is full of energy and ready to fight for a victory against Sassuolo. "We're not talking about tactics, but about energy. We're going to win as always," he said. Aiming to replicate last year's surprising season, Ghedjemis concluded that, at the moment, his focus is not on the standings, but rather on confidence and the desire to win.
