Davide Bartesaghi declared to Sky Sport, immediately after Milan's 2-0 victory against Udinese, that he had received trust from the coach for the offensive role entrusted to him. "The coach gave me confidence in this offensive role, he gave me everything to interpret it as best as possible. You can always grow, but I will always try to give 100%", he stated.
Milan, who are four points behind Inter, have shown they can react despite the injuries that have affected the team. "It's an important opportunity, but, regardless of the ranking, we take to the pitch trying to get the best result. And we try to maintain this attitude," added Bartesaghi, referring to the six-day derby.
During the match, Bartesaghi had a moment of tension with the American player Christian Pulisic, who took away a goal from Milan. "To be honest, I shouted to leave the ball. Then we spoke to each other, he told me he hadn't heard. There will be other opportunities for mutual assists," explained the defender.
Overall, Bartesaghi highlighted his versatility. "Luckily I can play as a winger both in attack and in defense, I'm a sort of fifth player... But I felt very good in the role tonight. I have to improve in defense, and I think so too. But I also have to improve the offensive phase, I focus on this in training", he concluded.
With the derby imminent, Milan aims to consolidate their position in the standings and take advantage of the manager's trust to achieve positive results in the upcoming matches.
