Torino has announced its preparation for the tenth matchday of Serie A, in which it will face Frosinone next Sunday at 3pm at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Coach Ignazio Abate spoke in a press conference at 2.30pm, where he illustrated the club's strategy and expectations for the away match.
Abate underlined how Toro had better results away from home than in the Arena, citing the team's growth over the course of the season. He reported that although strong teams have met at home, the club has shown unity and a winning spirit, especially in the recent matches. “We are growing, we are preparing for Sunday which will be tough,” he said.
As for Frosinone, Abate spoke of a humble approach, recognizing the solidity of the opposing group and their long history of playing collectively. “It's a group that has been playing together for years and Alvini is doing a very important job,” he said. The coach also reiterated the objective of putting the opponent in difficulty, while maintaining his own defensive discipline.
The analysis of the goals conceded led Abate to explain that, although the team conceded 14 goals, 4-5 of them were due to banal individual errors. “If it wasn't those goals, we would have been in line,” he noted. He added that the defense is organized but needs an increase in mental focus to reduce errors.
The manager then spoke about the key players and tactical decisions. He mentioned Perri's growth, the need to evaluate the form of Simeone and Adams, and the possible insertion of Pellegri based on recovery. He also highlighted Patterson's flexibility and competition in midfield, with Gineitis, Ilkhan, Bragança, Fitz-Jim, Vlasic and Oristanio competing for the first team.
Finally, Abate reiterated the importance of team spirit and unity as the foundation for facing Frosinone. He recalled the recent match against Como, underlining the need to maintain concentration and defensive discipline. With the match scheduled for Sunday, Torino is focusing on mental and tactical preparation, with the aim of obtaining a positive result away from home.
