Ivan Zamorano, the iconic Inter striker, commented on this evening's match at the San Siro, where his team will face Milan. In his interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chilean recalled the derbies of the past and expressed his impressions on the present, especially on the role of Marcus Thuram and Ruben Amorim's new Milan.
In his story, Zamorano underlined how the Inter team has become more offensive compared to the previous year, with a more incisive attack but which, at times, concedes too many goals. “When you decide to play so intensely, it's normal to concede a few points in certain phases of the match,” he explained. Despite this, he noted an improvement in defensive solidity, citing the win against Fiorentina as an example of growth.
Regarding the attack, Zamorano praised Marcus Thuram's transformation. "Without Lautaro, Thuram went from good to very good. He is the player who took command of the attack and showed great determination," he said. He added that Inter will not suffer from Lautaro's absence even in such an important match.
Finally, the veteran spoke about Amorim's new Milan. "There is more enthusiasm and a clearer and more courageous idea of the game. But in the Milan derby it doesn't matter who is the favourite; at the start of the match everything goes to zero", he observed. He recalled his times with Maldini, commenting that with Paolo it was a tough challenge.
With the match scheduled, fans will be able to see if Zamorano's observations will be confirmed on the pitch, while Milan will try to exploit Amorim's new philosophy to try to overcome their historic rivalry with Inter.
