Real Madrid has once again launched a forceful accusation against the refereeing authority, alleging that the referees are conspiring against them. The controversy intensified after the expulsion of Vinicius Junior in the match against Villarreal, where the player received a red card after a foul considered by the club to be unfair. Since then, the white club has insisted that referee decisions systematically harm it.
The club's official spokesperson is, in practice, Real Madrid TV itself, which has dedicated several of its programs to comparing the decisions in Real Madrid's matches with those of other teams. These segments highlight cases of penalties not awarded in favor of the club, expulsions that are perceived as “forgiven,” and yellow cards that are seen on Real Madrid players and their rivals. According to the channel, the sum of these events creates a “campaign” of damage directed against the team.
The issue of referee Juan Antonio Negreira is also still present in the club's narrative. It is recalled that Negreira has been an active referee in the Federation and that, according to internal sources, some referees who were promoted with his support could be involved in the alleged campaign. This reference is frequently repeated in the club's news reports, reinforcing the idea of a long-standing conspiracy.
Recently, Real Madrid has added the figure of Juan Manuel Tebas, president of the Spanish Football Federation and vice president of the League, to the debate. Several media outlets, including ABC and OK Diario, have cited club sources who claim that Tebas is “the new Negreira” and that his position in the League allows him to influence refereeing decisions. In a statement published by ABC, the club described Tebas as “the new Negreira” and stated that “these arbitrations have a black hand behind them.” OK Diario, for its part, quoted Real Madrid representatives as saying that “there is no coincidence, but rather the sovereignty and providence of God,” insinuating that the club is looking for whoever is responsible for the alleged damages.
The dispute between Real Madrid, the Technical Committee of Referees and the Federation remains unresolved and it seems that the tension will only increase. The club has made it clear that it will continue to denounce any decision that it perceives as biased, and that it will continue to investigate the possible influence of Tebas and other leaders in the organization of matches. Meanwhile, the league and the arbitration committee have not issued official comments on the accusations, leaving fans and the media waiting for a response that could clarify or confirm the white club's suspicions.
