Striker DaniRaba was once again the protagonist for Valencia after the arrival of JavierAguirre to the bench. In the new coach's first game, the Cantabrian winger opened the scoring two minutes in at ElSardinero, his first goal as a Valencian player, and immediately demonstrated the trust that Aguirre has placed in him. “I am happy for Aguirre's confidence, to play again and help the team get a point,” Raba commented after the match, stressing that his goal is to continue growing and contribute to the collective performance.
Raba's signing in the 2025/26 season was marked by limited participation: only 13 league games, with three starts and 264 minutes in total, while in the Copa del Rey he appeared in three games and added 233 minutes. During the previous season, the player had been under the shadow of Carlos Corberán, with just eight minutes of action. The arrival of Aguirre changed that scenario, as the coach selected him in his first eleven and Raba took the opportunity to justify his choice with an early goal that put Valencia ahead.
Despite the initial advantage, the team was unable to turn it into a victory and ended up tying the match. Raba acknowledged that the match had different phases and that Valencia needs to adjust several aspects, especially after a first half in which the local team showed superiority. “We started well, then they were superior to us in the first half, we had things to adjust and, in the second half, they were noticeable, but we must give a lot of value to the point achieved and at Mestalla look for the three points next week,” he added.
The striker also emphasized the importance of unity and strength at home to move away from the bottom of the table. “We have to become strong in Mestalla, turn it into a fortress and be all together and united to get the most out of these days,” he stated. The next match will be on Saturday at Mestalla against Athletic Club, where Valencia will seek to consolidate the trust that Aguirre has given them and continue improving their performance in the league.
