Sassuolo coach Alberto Aquilani spoke briefly about the margin of the match against Frosinone, highlighting the difficulty the staff had in interpreting the character of their rival. In a press conference which took place shortly after the conclusion of the match, Aquilani expressed his opinion on Frosinone's behaviour, defining them as "more temperate and mean" in their attempt to win.
During his interview, the coach underlined that Sassuolo maintained a clear team identity, but that the performance did not live up to expectations. “I think making an analysis is not simple: Frosinone put a little more on temperament and on wanting to win dirty balls,” said Aquilani, adding that Frosinone's errors influenced the progress of the match. Despite this, he reiterated that his staff continues to work with the same determination, even if the result was not favorable.
Speaking of defense, the coach acknowledged that errors in play had a significant impact. "We knew that Frosinone concedes and that they go one-on-one across the pitch. If they start again they do it hard with players who do poorly because they have the malice to make an impact," he explained. Aquilani also commented on the goalkeeper's performance, stating that he is not ready to change his position due to the mistakes made, but underlined the need to improve the defensive attitude.
Regarding the players, Aquilani mentioned the young Bakola, who arrived at the club in January, and expressed confidence in his potential. "The boy who arrived in January showed me right from the start that he can compete with others. He has to grow because today he made a mistake on the first goal, I expect significant growth because he has great potential", declared the coach. He also spoke about Adžic, calling him a player to rely on, and explained that the recent substitutions have led to other tactical choices being made.
Finally, Aquilani responded to a question about Muric's role, stating that "Muric sometimes goes beyond his role but today we didn't lose because of him." He closed the conference by underlining that Sassuolo is ready to continue working hard to improve their position in the league table, while acknowledging the difficulty of competing with teams like Frosinone, who play with a more aggressive and determined approach.
