Olympique de Marseille is continuing its ambition to modernize its infrastructure by embarking on the construction of a new training and training center with an estimated value of 70 million euros. The project, already under study, aims to replace the current Commanderie with a larger site better suited to the club's ambitions, as president Stéphane Richard confirmed during an interview with AFP. According to him, this is a crucial investment that must be made in the medium term to remain competitive.
The location of these future installations was recently specified by sources from La Tribune Olympienne. The planned site is located in Trets, a town in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, approximately forty kilometers from Marseille. A deliberation of the Metropolis of October 6, 2026 opens the area of the Burlière district to urbanization, which suggests that the club will be able to build its complex there. Although the deliberation does not explicitly mention OM, the elements indicate that the site is indeed that of the club.
The project in Trets would include six fields arranged on two plains, as well as several buildings for training, training and accommodation of players. The public consultation having already been closed, the next administrative steps are planned for December, with a possible validation of the modifications to the local urban plan. The club will then have to finalize its financing before starting the work.
This decision marks a major turning point for OM, which seeks to strengthen its basic infrastructure and support its sporting ambitions. The training center in Trets, if approved, could become the pillar of a long-term development strategy, providing players with a modern environment adapted to the contemporary demands of football. The next few weeks will be decisive to officially confirm the site and begin construction procedures.
