Venezia is in a critical phase: after six games, all defeats, the club has decided to sack coach Giovanni Stroppa. The club has already identified Davide Nicola as a possible replacement, but the search for a new technical direction has also expanded to the administrative level. Sports director Manuel Gerolin, former Udinese manager, has publicly expressed his willingness to intervene in the management of the Venetian club. In response to a post on the topic of unfruitful market expenses, Gerolin wrote: "Ready to lend a hand on the technical direction from Veneto doc, do you want me?", a clear self-nomination for a management role.
Gerolin has long experience in Italian football: in addition to Udinese, he has worked in various clubs, demonstrating skills both in human resources management and in planning market strategies. His proposal comes at a time when Venezia needs to reorganize and find a new balance between sporting and economic needs. The club, in fact, suffered a series of disappointing results and had to face pressure from both fans and stakeholders.
The club has already started an internal search for a new manager, with Nicola as the main candidate. At the same time, Gerolin's proposal was welcomed with interest by the board of directors, which is evaluating the possibility of introducing a new manager with consolidated experience. Should the application be accepted, Gerolin could play a key role in defining the transfer strategy and managing human resources, helping to stabilize the club in a period of uncertainty.
Venezia, which has so far only achieved defeats, now finds itself having to make quick decisions to avoid falling into a negative spiral. The choice of a new coach and a possible new manager will be crucial for the future of the team. The club has communicated that it will continue to monitor the situation and take the necessary measures to ensure more effective and competitive management. If Gerolin's candidacy is accepted, the club will be able to count on a professional with proven experience in management, ready to guide Venezia towards a more stable and promising phase.
