Cristian Chivu has reached a new record in the history of Inter, accumulating 150 points in his first 70 appearances in charge of the Nerazzurri club. The Romanian coach celebrated the milestone with a 3‑0 victory in Venice, which gave him the three points needed to overtake the previous incumbents. With this result, Chivu is positioned at the top of the Inter coaching rankings, distancing Simone Inzaghi by three points, Roberto Mancini by six and José Mourinho by seven, as well as surpassing Antonio Conte by twelve points.
The 150-points represent a value which, according to the methodology adopted, assigns three points for each victory and one for each draw. With this system, no other coach in Inter's history has achieved a higher score, even if the different competition periods and calendar variations are considered. The other notable names in the ranking are Invernizzi, Foni, Weisz, Herrera, Trapattoni, Invernizzi and Bersellini, whose scores range between 134 and 117 points.
The achievement comes at a crucial moment for the team, which prepares for the Milan derby against AC Milan. Chivu underlined the importance of this match, highlighting that Milan is the only Italian team that has never managed to beat Inter under his leadership. “The derby is a fundamental opportunity to consolidate our position in the table and demonstrate that we are the dominant team,” said the coach, focusing on maintaining concentration and tactical discipline.
Despite the success, Chivu recognizes that the work is not done yet. “I still have a lot to prove to be considered among the best coaches in Inter's history,” he said, underlining that the score is only an indicator and that the team must continue to improve. With the season still underway, Inter aims to maintain their run in the standings and try to end the season with results that justify Chivu's record. The next match will be decisive: the match against Milan could consolidate the team's position at the top of the championship.
